There are several ways to get involved in the Gruß & Kuss project:

  • Information sessions
  • Transcription workshops
  • Public readings
  • Love letter consultation hour
  • Love letter cracker barrel/regulars’ table (an informal get-together)
  • Lectures at the universities of the participating project partners
  • Collaborative work on the Gruß & Kuss communication platform
  • individual contributions to the project

Depending on the event, love letters will be read, transcribed and annotated together. Bringing one’s own epistemological interests and research questions to these events is highly encouraged.

What are the requirements for participation?

Anyone interested in love letter research is welcome to participate in Gruß & Kuss. Since most of the workshops currently take place online, a PC / laptop with internet access is an advantage. In addition, in order to participate in workshops and events involving love letters, it is mandatory to sign a privacy agreement and a post-use agreement. This is necessary to maintain the discretion promised to letter donors.

Participation in Gruß & Kuss events, readings, and workshops is voluntary at all times and free of charge. Guest auditor access may be requested at individual universities for possible participation in classes.

Where can I find out about events and register?

You can find an overview of current events and registration options on our events page. There you will also find a contact form that you can use to register for events.

If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact one of our Gruß & Kuss team members.
